EOS 400D - LCD-aus-Sensor defekt?

Nun da ich heute endlich meine EOS 400D abholen konnte, scheint der LCD-aus-Sensor nicht zu funktionieren. Obwohl die Option “LCD auto aus” im Menü aktiviert ist, macht die Kamera keine Anstalten das LCD abzuschalten wenn ich sie meinem Kopf annähere, bzw. meine Hand vor den Sensor halte.
